Our church

Atlanta Covenant Church is a planting ministry of Presbyterian Church in America

As the Chinese immigrant population in the Atlanta metropolitan area continues to expand, we are presented with a growing mission field. The timing is ripe to plant a new Chinese church. With the approval of Northwest Georgia Presbytery and support of Hope Presbyterian Church, Atlanta Covenant Church (PCA) is being planted, and this church will be a source of the Gospel to these new Chinese immigrants, training them in sound doctrine to become disciples of Jesus and passionately engaging in church planting.

Atlanta Covenant Church is Church Planting Ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. The church adheres to the principles outlined in the Westminster Confession of Faith, as well as the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms. Its operations are guided by the Book of Church Order, which provides a framework for governance and worship.

The church's planting ministry has received approval and support from the Northwest Georgia Presbyterian. Atlanta Covenant Church is grateful for the affirmation and encouragement it has received from the presbytery, which has been instrumental in the establishment and ongoing development of the church.

The planting ministry of Atlanta Covenant Church has also gained the recommendation of the Assessment Center of Mission to North America. This recognition from Mission to North America further validates the church's vision and mission, affirming the leadership and potential impact of Atlanta Covenant Church in the local community.

ACC is also part of City Lights Church Planting Network, which is a gospel-centered movement that aims to reach the Chinese community in North America through church planting. City Lights are a network of pastors from different churches who share a common burden and passion to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Chinese immigrants. The vision is to establish healthy, gospel-centered, and multiplying churches in major cities and college towns.

OUR PASTOR

Rev. James Li   李轩 牧师

James Li was born in Hebei Province, mainland China, and grew up in a Christian family. During his university years, he met his wife, Wendy at the campus Christian fellowship. After graduating, Wendy dedicated herself to campus evangelism ministry, while James involved in pastoral ministry. They got married in 2011. Following their marriage, Wendy gradually shifted her focus to their family, investing her energy into supporting James in his pastoral work and raising their four lovely children. In addition to his pastoral ministry, James continues to be sharpened through the Doctor of Ministry program at Reformed Theological Seminary. What ignites his passion is witnessing the Gospel spread like dandelion seeds carried by the wind, where the seeds of the Gospel take root and new churches are planted within communities. And then, just like dandelion seeds, the Gospel spreads again as it emanates from the newly planted churches...(1Thessalonians 1:2-10)
